This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, make minor technical amendments to the Fisheries (South-East Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986. The amendments are intended to give better effect to the amendments that were recently made to the principal regulations by the Fisheries (South-East Area Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2008, which introduced new measures for the protection of Hector's and Maui's dolphins.
