Pursuant to section 88(1)(a) of the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration Act 1995, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
These regulations are the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration (Fees) Amendment Regulations 2008.
These regulations come into force on 25 January 2009.
These regulations amend the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration (Fees) Regulations 1995.
The definition of certificate in regulation 1A is amended by omitting “or civil union certificate”
and substituting “civil union certificate, or name change certificate”
.

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 25 January 2009, amend the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration (Fees) Regulations 1995 by including a reference to a name change certificate in the definition of certificate in regulation 1A.
The effect of the amendment is to apply the fees for certificates, as prescribed by the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration (Fees) Regulations 1995, to name change certificates.
