Pursuant to section 186A of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries gives the following notice.
This notice is the Fisheries (Ohiwa Harbour Temporary Closure) Notice 2008.
This notice comes into force on 7 November 2008.
This notice expires on 22 October 2010.
(1) No person may take green-lipped mussels from Ohiwa Harbour while this notice is in force.
(2) In subclause (1), Ohiwa Harbour means that area of New Zealand fisheries waters that lies within the Ohiwa Harbour, the entrance to which is defined by a straight line drawn from the eastern point of the harbour entrance (at 37°59.36′S and 177°09.50′E) to the western point of the harbour entrance (at 37°59.36′S and 177°08.38′E).
(3) To avoid doubt, the geographical co-ordinates in subclause (2) are in terms of WGS84 datum.
The Fisheries (Ohiwa Harbour Temporary Closure) Notice 2006 (SR 2006/151) is revoked.

This notice prohibits the taking of green-lipped mussels from Ohiwa Harbour. The prohibition runs from the start of the day on 7 November 2008 until the end of the day on 22 October 2010.
