Pursuant to section 2 of the Family Protection Amendment Act 2008, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings into force, on 18 May 2009, the Family Protection Amendment Act 2008 (the amendment Act).

The amendment Act amends the Family Protection Act 1955 to—

  • specify the persons on whom an application must be served; and

  • specify the persons in respect of whom orders for representation on an application must be made.
