This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 30 June 2009, amend the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1991.
The amendments, subject to 1 exception, continue the effect of existing regulation 3A of the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1991, which provides for the closure of the blue cod fishery in the same areas but will expire on 29 June 2009. The exception is that, under the amendments, the closure does not have a set expiry date.
