Pursuant to section 2 of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

Order

1 Title
  • This order is the New Zealand Geographic Board (Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act Commencement Order 2009.

2 Commencement of sections 32 and 33 of New Zealand Geographic Board (Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008
  • Sections 32 and 33 of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008 come into force on 1 November 2009.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings sections 32 and 33 of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008 into force. These are the two provisions not brought into force by the New Zealand Geographic Board (Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act Commencement Order 2008.

Section 32 requires official names to be used in official documents and section 33 provides a sanction if that requirement is not met.
