Pursuant to section 59(7) of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.


1 Title
  • This order is the Fisheries (Schedule 5) Order 2009.

2 Commencement
  • This order comes into force on 1 October 2009.

3 New item inserted in Schedule 5 of Fisheries Act 1996
  • Schedule 5 of the Fisheries Act 1996 is amended by inserting the following item in its appropriate alphabetical order: Redbait (Emmelichthys nitidus).

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 1 October 2009, amends Schedule 5 of the Fisheries Act 1996 to include redbait among the species for which quota aggregation of up to and including 45% is permitted.
