Pursuant to section 44 of the Valuers Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations

1 Title
  • These regulations are the Valuers Amendment Regulations 2009.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 1 January 2010.

3 Principal regulations amended
4 Schedule 1 amended
  • (1) Item 1 of Schedule 1 is amended by omitting 550.00 and substituting 594.00.

    (2) Item 8 of Schedule 1 is amended by omitting 225.00 and substituting 270.00.

    (3) Item 9 of Schedule 1 is amended by omitting 254.25 and substituting 305.00.

5 Savings
  • (1) A fee set out in Schedule 1 of the principal regulations that is payable before the commencement of these regulations continues to be payable at the amount set before the commencement of these regulations.

    (2) To avoid doubt, the fee for an annual practising certificate or the annual registration fee payable for 2010 is payable at the amount set after the commencement of these regulations even though the request for the payment of the fees is made before the commencement of these regulations.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 January 2010, amend the Valuers Regulations 1949 to increase certain fees set out in Schedule 1 of those regulations as follows:

  • the application fee for initial registration as a valuer is increased from $550.00 to $594.00:

  • the fee for an annual practising certificate is increased from $225.00 to $270.00:

  • the fee for annual registration as a valuer is increased from $254.25 to $305.00.

The fees set out in Schedule 1 are inclusive of goods and services tax.

The regulations provide that the fee for an annual practising certificate or the annual registration fee payable for 2010 is payable at the amount set after the commencement of these regulations even though the request for the payment of the fees is made before the commencement of these regulations.
