Pursuant to section 168 of the Land Transport Act 1998, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations

1 Title
  • These regulations are the Transport Services Licensing Amendment Regulations 2010.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 1 October 2010.

  • The item in Schedule 1 relating to section 30K of the Land Transport Act 1998 is amended by omitting 440.00 and substituting 449.80.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 October 2010, amend Schedule 1 of the Transport Services Licensing Regulations 1989.

The amendment increases the prescribed fee for an application for a transport service licence to take account of the increase in the rate of goods and services tax from 12.5% to 15% on and from 1 October 2010 as provided by section 45 of the Taxation (Budget Measures) Act 2010. The amendment has been made to round up the fee to the nearest 10 cents. The other prescribed fees are adjusted automatically under section 78(3) of the Goods and Services Tax Act 1985.
