Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations

1 Title
  • These regulations are the Fisheries (Challenger Area Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2010.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 16 December 2010.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 16 December 2010, amend regulation 5(1) of the Fisheries (Challenger Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986. Regulation 5(1) specifies the regulations the breach of which carries a maximum penalty of $10,000. The amendment inserts a reference to regulation 3C, which relates to taking or possessing a sand flounder less than 25 cm in length in the Challenger Fisheries Management Area.
