Pursuant to section 88(1)(b) of the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration Act 1995, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations

1  Title
  • These regulations are the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration (Prescribed Information) Amendment Regulations 2011.

2  Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.

4  Name change certificates
  • Regulation 9 is amended by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (b):

    • (ba) the person's full name at birth:.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, amend regulation 9 of the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration (Prescribed Information) Regulations 1995, which prescribes the information that must be contained in a name change certificate. The amendment provides that a person's full name at birth must be contained in the certificate.
