Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, revokes the Anthrax Prevention Regulations 1987. Those regulations are no longer required because they have been superseded by import health standards issued under section 22 of the Biosecurity Act 1993 (which specify the requirements to be met for the effective management of risks associated with the importation of risk goods).

Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.

Date of notification in Gazette: 6 October 2011.

This order is administered by the Ministry of Health.
