Corrections (Mount Eden Prison) Notice 2012

Pursuant to section 32 of the Corrections Act 2004, the Minister of Corrections gives the following notice.


1 Title
  • This notice is the Corrections (Mount Eden Prison) Notice 2012.

2 Commencement
  • This notice takes effect from 12 July 2012.

3 Mount Eden Prison
  • The land described in the Schedule is declared to be a corrections prison to be known as Mount Eden Prison.

4 Revocation

All that parcel of land in the North Auckland Land Registration District containing 1.6565 hectares, more or less, being Sections 1 and 2 on Survey Office Plan 441360, and being part of the land comprised and described in computer freehold register 552867, North Auckland Registry.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice, which takes effect from 12 July 2012, is made under the Corrections Act 2004. As the cell blocks of the Auckland High Court, Auckland District Court, and Manukau District Court have been reassigned from Mount Eden Prison to Auckland Prison, this notice provides a new legal description of Mount Eden Prison that omits references to those cell blocks.
