Pursuant to section 286(1)(ff) of the Customs and Excise Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
  • These regulations are the Customs and Excise Amendment Regulations 2012.

  • These regulations come into force on 1 October 2012.

4 Regulations 78 and 79 revoked
5 Schedule 2 amended

Michael Webster,
for Clerk of the Executive Council.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 October 2012, amend the Customs and Excise Regulations 1996 by revoking the form prescribed for search warrants and the form prescribed for reports on the execution of emergency warrants. The revocations arise out of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012, which will govern applications for search warrants under the Customs and Excise Act 1996 and also dispenses with the need for search warrants and related forms to be in a prescribed form.

Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.

Date of notification in Gazette: 30 August 2012.

These regulations are administered by the Ministry of Justice.
