Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Amendment Regulations 2012

Pursuant to section 65 of the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act 1992, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations

1 Title
  • These regulations are the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Amendment Regulations 2012.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 1 October 2012.

3 Principal regulations
4 Schedule amended
  • (1) In the Schedule, form 4, replace a District Court Judge with an issuing officer (within the meaning of section 3 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012).

    (2) In the Schedule, revoke form 5.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 October 2012, make amendments to the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Regulations 1993 (the principal regulations) that are consequential on the commencement of certain provisions of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012. These regulations amend form 4 and revoke form 5 in the Schedule of the principal regulations.
