Pursuant to section 44 of the Valuers Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations

1 Title
  • These regulations are the Valuers Amendment Regulations 2012.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 1 January 2013.

3 Principal regulations
4 Schedule 1 amended
  • (1) In Schedule 1, item 1, replace 594.00 with 820.00.

    (2) In Schedule 1, item 8, replace 270.00 with 373.00.

    (3) In Schedule 1, item 9, replace 305.00 with 421.00.

5 Savings
  • (1) A fee set out in Schedule 1 of the principal regulations that is payable before the commencement of these regulations continues to be payable at the amount set before the commencement of these regulations.

    (2) To avoid doubt, the fee for an annual practising certificate or the annual registration fee payable for 2013 is payable at the amount set after the commencement of these regulations even though the request for the payment of the fees is made before the commencement of these regulations.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 January 2013, amend the Valuers Regulations 1949 to increase certain fees set out in Schedule 1 of those regulations as follows:

  • the application fee for initial registration as a valuer is increased from $594.00 to $820.00:

  • the fee for an annual practising certificate is increased from $270.00 to $373.00:

  • the fee for annual registration as a valuer is increased from $305.00 to $421.00.

The fees set out in Schedule 1 of those regulations are inclusive of goods and services tax.

The regulations provide that the fee for an annual practising certificate or the annual registration fee payable for 2013 is payable at the amount set after the commencement of these regulations even though the request for the payment of the fees is made before the commencement of these regulations.
