Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings section 11 of the Trade Marks Amendment Act 2011 into force on 29 April 2013. That section amends section 82 of the Trade Marks Act 2002, which relates to registration of a title to a trade mark. The amendment, among other things, enables an owner of a trade mark who has assigned or transmitted title to the trade mark to apply to the Commissioner of Trade Marks to register the new owner's title to the trade mark.
