This note is not part of the rules, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These rules, which come into force on 1 July 2013, amend the Disputes Tribunals Rules 1989 (the principal rules). The rules make changes as a consequence of the regime implemented by the Criminal Procedure Act 2011. Under that Act, offences are no longer classified as summary or indictable. Accordingly, the amendment in these rules deletes the word
“summary” from the offences specified in rule 18.
