This notice is administered by the Ministry for Primary Industries.

Pursuant to section 13 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister for Primary Industries gives the following notice after complying with the requirements in that section.

Notice

1 Title

This notice is the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2012 Amendment Notice 2013.

2 Commencement

This notice comes into force on 30 September 2013.

3 Application

This notice applies on and from the first day of the fishing year starting on 1 October 2013.

4 Principal notice

This notice amends the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2012 (the principal notice).

5 Schedule amended

(1)

In the Schedule, insert in their appropriate alphabetical order the items set out in Schedule 1 of this notice.

(2)

In the Schedule, in each item relating to a fishstock code set out in the third column of Schedule 2 of this notice, replace the amount of total allowable catch set out in the fourth column with the amount set out in the fifth column.

6 Consequential amendment to Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice (No 2) 1997

In the Schedule, revoke the item relating to snapper in quota management area 1.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice amends the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2012. It comes into force on 30 September 2013 and applies to and from the fishing year starting on 1 October 2013.

The amendments vary the total allowable catch (TAC) for certain fishstocks as follows:

  • the TAC for OYS4 is increased to 50 tonnes (from 20 tonnes, set by the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2005 (Gazette 2005, p 4071)):

  • the TAC for HOK1 is increased to 151 540 tonnes (from 131 340 tonnes):

  • the TAC for KIN7 is increased to 41 tonnes (from 21 tonnes, set by the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice (No 2) 2003 (Gazette 2003, p 2882)):

  • the TAC for LEA3 is increased to 140 tonnes (from 108 tonnes, set by the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2003 (Gazette 2003, p 2473)):

  • the TAC for LIN5 is increased to 4 036 tonnes (from 3 633 tonnes, set by the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice (No 3) 2004 (Gazette 2004, p 3073)):

  • the TAC for LIN7 is increased to 3 144 tonnes (from 2 501 tonnes):

  • the TAC for ORH3B is increased to 4 725 tonnes (from 3 780 tonnes):

  • the TAC for SCI2 is increased to 140 tonnes (from 105 tonnes):

  • the TAC for SPE1 is increased to 58 tonnes (from 35 tonnes, set by the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2006 (Gazette 2006, p 3297)):

  • the TAC for SNA1 is increased to 8 050 tonnes (from 7 550 tonnes, set by the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice (No 2) 1997 (SR 1997/205)).
