This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 22 November 2013, amend the Electronic Identity Verification Regulations 2013 (the principal regulations) which are made under the Electronic Identity Verification Act 2012 (the Act).
The Act provides for the Electronic Identity Verification Service (the Service). Among other things, the Service enables a person to verify his or her identity by electronic means in order to meet the identification requirements of participating agencies in relation to certain transactions and services. The Service also enables entities that are declared by regulations to be participating agencies to verify a person's identity by electronic means, provided that they have the person's consent to verification using the Service.
These regulations add the following entities to regulation 4 of the principal regulations, declaring them to be participating agencies for the purposes of the Act:
every provider (within the meaning of section 5 of the KiwiSaver Act 2006) of a scheme that is registered in the KiwiSaver schemes register established under section 156 of that Act:

Partners Life Limited:
Private Box Limited:
Prometheus Finance Limited:
Real Estate Institute of New Zealand Incorporated:
