Court of Appeal (Civil) Amendment Rules 2014

Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council

Pursuant to section 51 of the Judicature Act 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, and with the concurrence of the Right Honourable the Chief Justice and at least 2 other members of the rules committee (at least 1 of whom was a Judge of the High Court), makes the following rules.

Rules

1 Title
  • These rules are the Court of Appeal (Civil) Amendment Rules 2014.

2 Commencement
  • These rules come into force on 3 June 2014.

3 Principal rules
4 New rule 12A inserted (Practice note about electronic format)
  • After rule 12, insert:

    12A Practice note about electronic format
    • If, under these rules, or with the authority of the court, any document or bundles of documents are to be served or filed electronically by any party, the party must have regard to any practice note issued from time to time by the President of the Court of Appeal about electronic formats.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the rules, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These rules, which come into force on 3 June 2014, require any party filing or serving documents electronically in relation to proceedings in the Court of Appeal to have regard to any practice note issued from time to time by the President of the Court of Appeal about electronic formats.
