Electoral Main Rolls Closing Order 2014

Jerry Mateparae, Governor-General

Order in Council

At Wellington this 16th day of June 2014

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council

Pursuant to section 104(2)(a) of the Electoral Act 1993, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

1 Title
  • This order is the Electoral Main Rolls Closing Order 2014.

2 Date for closing of main rolls
  • The main roll for every general electoral district and for every Māori electoral district closes on 18 July 2014.

3 Revocations

 Martin Bell,
for Clerk of the Executive Council.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

As part of the enrolment inquiry, this order closes, as at 18 July 2014, the main rolls for all electoral districts. This enables the main rolls to be printed and published as at that date. They will then be available to the public for checking. The making of this order does not preclude the making of a subsequent order later in 2014 or the printing of a composite roll as at writ day. Although this order closes the main rolls for the purposes of printing and inspection, electors may still enrol and update their information until the day before election day. This order revokes the Electoral Main Rolls Closing Order 2008 and the Electoral Main Rolls Closing Order 2011.

Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.

Date of notification in Gazette: 19 June 2014.

This order is administered by the Ministry of Justice.
