Companies Amendment Act 2014 Commencement Order 2014

Pursuant to section 2 of the Companies Amendment Act 2014, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

Order

1 Title
  • This order is the Companies Amendment Act 2014 Commencement Order 2014.

2 Commencement of certain provisions of Companies Amendment Act 2014
  • (1) Section 58 and Schedule 2 of the Companies Amendment Act 2014 (the Act) come into force on 1 September 2014 in so far as they relate to—

    • (a) the insertion of new section 151(2)(eaa) and (ec); and

    • (b) the insertion of new section 280(1)(kaa).

    (2) Section 58 and Schedule 2 of the Act come into force on 11 September 2014 in so far as they relate to—

    • (b) the insertion of new section 241(4)(bb); and

    • (d) the insertion of new section 373(2)(ia); and

    (3) Section 59 of the Act comes into force on 11 September 2014.

    (4) Part 2 and the remaining provisions of Part 4 of the Act that have not earlier been brought into force come into force on 1 May 2015.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings the remaining provisions of the Companies Amendment Act 2014 (the Act) into force.

Parts 1 and 3 of the Act came into force on the day after the date on which the Act received the Royal assent.

The order brings—

  • section 58 and certain amendments in Schedule 2 of the Act into force on 1 September 2014:

  • other amendments in Schedule 2 into force on 11 September 2014:

  • section 59 into force on 11 September 2014:

  • Part 2 and the remaining provisions of Part 4 (including the remaining provisions of Schedule 2) into force on 1 May 2015.
