Climate Change (Unique Emissions Factors) Amendment Regulations 2014

The Right Hon John Key presiding in Council

Pursuant to sections 163 and 164 of the Climate Change Response Act 2002, His Excellency the Governor-General makes the following regulations, acting—

  • (a) on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and

  • (b) on the recommendation of the Minister for Climate Change Issues made after complying with the requirements in sections 163(5) and 166(1) of that Act.

Regulations

1 Title
  • These regulations are the Climate Change (Unique Emissions Factors) Amendment Regulations 2014.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 1 January 2016.

3 Principal regulations
4 Schedule 3 amended
  • (1) In Schedule 3, item relating to food, replace 0.0% with 12.3%.

    (2) In Schedule 3, item relating to garden, replace 23.3% with 9.2%.

    (3) In Schedule 3. item relating to sewage sludge, replace 0.0% with 5.0%.

    (4) In Schedule 3, item relating to other, replace 41.3% with 38.1%.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 January 2016, amend Schedule 3 of the Climate Change (Unique Emissions Factors Regulations) 2009. The amendments change the default waste composition percentages for the food, garden, sewage sludge, and other waste stream components.
