Road User Charges Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2014

Pursuant to section 89 of the Road User Charges Act 2012, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations

1 Title
  • These regulations are the Road User Charges Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2014.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 19 January 2015.

3 Principal regulations
4 Cross-heading above regulation 12 amended
  • In the cross-heading above regulation 12, after display, insert or carriage.

5 New regulation 15A inserted (When licence may be carried but not displayed)
  • After regulation 15, insert:

    15A When licence may be carried but not displayed
    • (1) This regulation applies in relation to a distance licence or an additional licence for a heavy RUC vehicle.

      (2) The licence is not required to be displayed in accordance with regulations 12 to 15 if the licence, in printed or electronic format, is—

      • (a) carried in the vehicle; and

      • (b) able to be produced in accordance with section 21 of the Act.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 19 January 2015, amend the Road User Charges Regulations 2012. The amendment inserts a new regulation 15A, which provides that a distance licence or an additional licence for a heavy RUC vehicle is not required to be displayed in accordance with regulations 12 to 15 if the licence is carried in the vehicle and is able to be produced in accordance with section 21 of the Road User Charges Act 2012.
