Fisheries (Notification of Waitutu Mātaitai Reserve and Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki) Amendment Notice 2014

Pursuant to regulation 22 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, the Director-General of the Ministry for Primary Industries gives the following notice.

  • This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Waitutu Mātaitai Reserve and Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki) Amendment Notice 2014.

2 Commencement
  • This notice comes into force on 12 December 2014.

3 Principal notice
4 New clause 5 inserted (Notification of appointment of additional Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki)
  • After clause 4, insert:

    5 Notification of appointment of additional Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki
    • (1) The Minister for Primary Industries has appointed the following additional Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the Waitutu Mātaitai Reserve, each for a term of 5 years:

      • (a) Jane Davis:

      • (b) Dene Cole.

      (2) The appointment of the Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki takes effect on 12 December 2014.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice, which comes into force on 12 December 2014, is made under the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999 (the regulations). This notice relates to a mātaitai reserve (declared under regulation 20 of the regulations) that is located in an area of Southland waters between Riverton and Fiordland National Park. This notice names 2 additional Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the reserve who have been appointed under regulation 21 of the regulations.
