Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 2015, amend the Social Security (Long-term Residential Care) Regulations 2005 (the principal regulations). They increase to $272.50 the annual clothing allowance payable under regulation 7 of the principal regulations and increase the personal allowance referred to in regulation 12 of those regulations to $43.45 per week.

These increases reflect a 0.51% increase in the New Zealand Consumers Price Index from the December 2013 quarter to the December 2014 quarter (calculated for all quarters using the New Zealand Consumers Price Index (All Groups), excluding cigarettes and other tobacco products).

Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.
