Pursuant to section 19 of the Social Welfare (Reciprocity Agreements, and New Zealand Artificial Limb Service) Act 1990, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

Order

1 Title
  • This order is the Social Welfare (Reciprocity with Malta) Amendment Order 2015.

2 Commencement
  • This order comes into force on 1 May 2015.

3 Principal order
4 Clause 4 amended (Modification of enactments)
  • (1) Replace clause 4(a) with:

    • (a) Part 1 of the New Zealand Superannuation and Retirement Income Act 2001:.

    (2) Replace clause 4(b) with:

    • (b) the Social Welfare (Reciprocity Agreements, and New Zealand Artificial Limb Service) Act 1990:.

    (3) Replace clause 4(d) with:

    • (d) Part 6 of the Veterans’ Support Act 2014:.

    (4) In clause 4, insert as subclause (2):

    • (2) A reference in either of the following to the War Pensions Act 1954 in relation to New Zealand must on or after 7 December 2014 be read as a reference to Part 6 of the Veterans’ Support Act 2014:

      • (a) a provision of the agreement referred to in clause 3:

      • (b) a provision of a document related to any administrative arrangement established under Article 13 of that agreement.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 1 May 2015, amends the Social Welfare (Reciprocity with Malta) Order 2013 (the principal order).

The amendments update clause 4 of the principal order to align the legislative references in that clause with section 19(1)(b) of the Social Welfare (Reciprocity Agreements, and New Zealand Artificial Limb Service) Act 1990. In particular, the amendments reflect that—
