This notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua represented by Te Rūnanga o Moeraki. The area/rohe moana is located in North Otago in an area of South Island fisheries waters between the Waitaki River and the Shag River.
Notice is given of—
the cancellation of an appointment of a Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the customary food gathering area/rohe moana:
the appointment of a replacement Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the customary food gathering area/rohe moana:
the reappointment of a Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the customary food gathering area/rohe moana.
The Minister for Primary Industries took these actions under regulations 10(1), 10(2), and 9(5) of the regulations, respectively, at the request of Te Rūnanga o Moeraki.
The Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for a customary food gathering area/rohe moana may authorise any individual to take fish, aquatic life, or seaweed for customary food gathering purposes from within the area/rohe moana.
