This order is made under section 317(1) of the Education Act 1989 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

1 Title

This order is the Education (Home-Based Care) Order Revocation Order 2016.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 1 June 2016.

3 Revocation

The Education (Home-Based Care) Order 1992 (SR 1992/238) is revoked.

4 Revocation of this order

This order is revoked on 30 June 2016.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 1 June 2016 and is revoked on 30 June 2016, revokes the Education (Home-Based Care) Order 1992 (the principal order). The principal order issued a code of practice for home-based early childhood education services. The principal order was replaced by the Education (Early Childhood Services) Regulations 2008, but continued to apply under the transitional provisions in section 319L of the Education Act 1989 to existing licensed services and service providers whose licence applications are yet to be determined. The transitional provisions are now spent.
