This order is made under section 32 of the Ombudsmen Act 1975 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

Order

1 Title

This order is the Ombudsmen Act (Schedule 1—Ministry for Vulnerable Children, Oranga Tamariki) Order 2016.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 1 April 2017.

3 Part 1 of Schedule 1 of Ombudsmen Act 1975 amended

In the Ombudsmen Act 1975, Schedule 1, Part 1, insert in its appropriate alphabetical order:

Ministry for Vulnerable Children, Oranga Tamariki

Michael Webster,
Clerk of the Executive Council.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 1 April 2017, amends the Ombudsmen Act 1975 by inserting a reference to the Ministry for Vulnerable Children, Oranga Tamariki in the list of government departments in Part 1 of Schedule 1.

The effect of this order is that both the Ombudsmen Act 1975 and the Official Information Act 1982 will apply to the Ministry for Vulnerable Children, Oranga Tamariki.
