This order is made under section 73(1)(c) of the Parental Leave and Employment Protection Act 1987—

(a)

on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and

(b)

on the recommendation of the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety (made after consultation with the persons or organisations that the Minister considered appropriate).

1 Title

This order is the Parental Leave and Employment Protection (Rate of Parental Leave Payment) Regulations Revocation Order 2017.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 17 March 2017.

3 Revocation and saving

However, the Parental Leave and Employment Protection (Rate of Parental Leave Payment) Regulations 2015 continue to apply in relation to the period commencing on 1 July 2015 and ending on 30 June 2016 as if they had not been revoked.

4 Revocation of this order

This order is revoked on 1 April 2017.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 17 March 2017, revokes the Parental Leave and Employment Protection (Rate of Parental Leave Payment) Regulations 2015 (the 2015 Regulations). The 2015 Regulations set the rate of parental leave payment that applied for the period 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016. On 1 July 2016, the rate of parental leave payment was adjusted in accordance with a new process set out in section 71N of the Parental Leave and Employment Protection Act 1987. Accordingly, the 2015 Regulations are no longer required. This order is revoked on 1 April 2017.
