This order is made under section 2(1) of the Geographical Indications (Wine and Spirits) Registration Act 2006 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

Order

1 Title

This order is the Geographical Indications (Wine and Spirits) Registration Act Commencement Order 2017.

2 Commencement of remaining provisions of Geographical Indications (Wine and Spirits) Registration Act 2006

The remaining provisions of the Geographical Indications (Wine and Spirits) Registration Act 2006 that have not earlier been brought into force come into force on 27 July 2017.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings into force, on 27 July 2017, the remaining provisions of the Geographical Indications (Wine and Spirits) Registration Act 2006 (the Act) that have not earlier been brought into force.

Section 62 of the Act, which repealed the Geographical Indications Act 1994, was brought into force on 14 April 2008 by clause 2 of the Geographical Indications Act 1994 Repeal Order 2008 (SR 2008/64).
