Order in Council

At Wellington this 31st day of July 2017

Present:
Her Excellency the Governor-General in Council

This order is made under section 81BA(2) of the Tax Administration Act 1994 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister of Revenue made in accordance with section 81BA(3) of that Act.

Order

1 Title

This order is the Tax Administration (Information Sharing with Ministry of Social Development) Order Revocation Order 2017.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 31 August 2017.

4 Revocation of this order

This order is revoked on 30 September 2017.

Michael Webster,
Clerk of the Executive Council.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 31 August 2017, revokes the Tax Administration (Information Sharing with Ministry of Social Development) Order 2012 (the principal order).

The principal order enables the Commissioner of Inland Revenue to communicate to the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) certain information held by the Inland Revenue Department (IRD).

The principal order is being revoked because, on and from 31 August 2017, an approved information sharing agreement between IRD and MSD will enable communication of certain information between the agencies (see the Privacy (Information Sharing Agreement between Inland Revenue and Ministry of Social Development) Order 2017). Accordingly, the principal order will no longer be needed.

Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.

Date of notification in Gazette: 3 August 2017.

This order is administered by the Inland Revenue Department.
