These regulations are made under section 215(d) of the Student Loan Scheme Act 2011 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

Regulations

1 Title

These regulations are the Student Loan Scheme (Details of Borrower’s Contact Person) Amendment Regulations 2020.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 1 April 2020.

3 Principal regulations

These regulations amend the Student Loan Scheme (Details of Borrower’s Contact Person) Regulations 2012 (the principal regulations).

4 Regulation 3 amended (Details about borrower’s contact person)

In regulation 3, replace “for the purpose of section 16A(1)(e)” with “for the purposes of sections 16A(1)(e) and 107A(2)(e)”.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 2020, amend the Student Loan Scheme (Details of Borrower’s Contact Person) Regulations 2012. The amendment specifies 2 additional pieces of information that a borrower must notify to the Commissioner when advising of the details of the borrower’s contact person as part of an application for a repayment holiday under section 107 of the Student Loan Scheme Act 2011. The 2 additional pieces of information are the contact person’s date of birth and the contact person’s tax file number.
