Family Courts Matters Bill


Proposed motion to divide Bill into 12 Bills

Hon Rick Barker, in Committee, to move as follows:

That the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, and Part 1, be a separate Bill, and that for the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, and the Part 1 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title
  • This Act is the Adoption Amendment Act 2008.

2 Commencement
  • (1) This Act comes into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council.

    (2) One or more Orders in Council may be made appointing different dates for the commencement of different provisions and for different purposes.

That Part 2 be a separate Bill, and that for the Part 2 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title
  • This Act is the Care of Children Amendment Act 2008.

2 Commencement
  • (1) This Act comes into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council.

    (2) One or more Orders in Council may be made appointing different dates for the commencement of different provisions and for different purposes.

That Part 3 be a separate Bill, and that for the Part 3 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:
