Aquaculture Legislation Amendment Bill (No 3)


Proposed motion to divide Bill into 4 Bills

Hon Phil Heatley, in Committee, to move as follows:

That the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, Part 1, and Schedule 1 be a separate Bill, and that for the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, and the Part 1 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title
  • This Act is the Aquaculture Reform (Repeals and Transitional Provisions) Amendment Act 2011.

2 Commencement
  • This Act comes into force on 1 October 2011.

That Part 2 and Schedules 1A and 1B be a separate Bill, and that for the Part 2 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title
  • This Act is the Fisheries Amendment Act 2011.

2 Commencement
  • This Act comes into force on 1 October 2011.

That Part 3 be a separate Bill, and that for the Part 3 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title
  • This Act is the Maori Commercial Aquaculture Claims Settlement Amendment Act 2011.

2 Commencement
  • (1) Section 52(2) and (3) comes into force on the day on which this Act receives the Royal assent.

    (2) The rest of this Act comes into force on 1 October 2011.

That Part 4 and Schedules 2 and 3 be a separate Bill, and that for the Part 4 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title
  • This Act is the Resource Management Amendment Act 2011.

2 Commencement
  • (1) Section 69 comes into force 3 years after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent.

    (2) The rest of this Act comes into force on 1 October 2011.


Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper divides the Aquaculture Legislation Amendment Bill (No 3) into the following 4 Bills:

  • the Aquaculture Reform (Repeals and Transitional Provisions) Amendment Bill:

  • the Fisheries Amendment Bill:

  • the Maori Commercial Aquaculture Claims Settlement Amendment Bill:
