Electoral (Finance Reform and Advance Voting) Amendment Bill


Proposed amendments

Hilary Calvert, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 12A, new section 206V

To omit subsection (1) and substitute the following subsection (lines 3 to 6 on page 40):

  • (1) The total referendum expenses of a registered promoter in respect of the regulated period must not exceed $500,000 (or such other amount as is prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council under section 266A).

  • (1) The total referendum expenses of a registered promoter in respect of the regulated period must not exceed $750,000 (or such other amount as is prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council under section 266A).


Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Electoral (Finance Reform and Advance Voting) Amendment Bill to limit the expenses of a registered promoter to $500,000 or $750,000.
