Proposed amendments
Dr Russel Norman, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 6, new section 8A:
In clause 6, new section 8A(c), replace “—”
(line 22 on page 7), with “the Minister.”
In clause 6, new section 8A(c), delete subparagraphs (i) and (ii) (lines 23 to 26 on page 7).
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Government Communications Security Bureau and Related Legislation Amendment Bill to remove the ability for the GCSB to report information and provide intelligence gathered to “any person or office holder (whether in New Zealand or overseas) authorised by the Minister”.
