An Act to amend “The Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871.”
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Otago Roads Ordinance 1871 Amendment Act, 1879.”
2 Governor may constitute road district with less area than fifteen square miles.
Notwithstanding anything contained in section five of an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Otago, intituled “The Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,”
it shall be lawful for the Governor to constitute, within the Provincial District of Otago, any township, with the suburban land or any part thereof adjoining thereto, to be a road district under the said Ordinance, although such district shall contain less than fifteen square miles.
3 Sections 187 to 196 not to apply in certain cases
It shall be lawful for the Governor, in and by any Proclamation constituting a road district, to declare that sections one hundred and eighty-seven to one hundred and ninety-six, both inclusive, of the said “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,”
shall not apply to such district, and in such case the said sections shall not apply to or be in operation therein.
