An Act to amend “The Nelson College Act, 1858.”
Preamble.
WHEREAS the Council of Governors of Nelson College, incorporated by “The Nelson College Act, 1858,”
desire to establish a college for girls, and to expend a part of the funds in them vested in buildings for, and in the maintenance of, such college for girls:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Nelson College Act 1858 Amendment Act, 1882.”
2 Nelson College Governors may expend funds in establishment of college for girls.
The said Council of Governors may, if they shall see fit, expend such part of the funds in them vested as they may think expedient, but not exceeding in the whole one-third part of such funds, in the purchase of land and the erection of buildings for the purposes of a college for girls, and in the maintenance and support of such college, anything in the said Act to the contrary notwithstanding.
