An Act to authorize the Napier Harbour Board to pay off certain Debentures made and given under “The Napier Harbour Board Act, 1875,”
out of Moneys borrowed or to be borrowed by the Napier Harbour Board under “The Napier Harbour Board Empowering and Loan Act, 1884.”
Preamble.
WHEREAS by section seven of “The Napier Harbour Board Empowering and Loan Act, 1884,”
the Napier Harbour Board is empowered to borrow any sum of money not exceeding three hundred thousand pounds, to be applied in and about the construction and carrying-out of certain works mentioned in section six thereof: And whereas it is expedient that the Napier Harbour Board should be permitted, out of the moneys borrowed or to be borrowed under “The Napier Harbour Board Empowering and Loan Act, 1884,”
to pay off a sum of seventy-five thousand pounds, borrowed by the Napier Harbour Board under “The Napier Harbour Board Act, 1875.”
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Napier Harbour Board Empowering Act, 1885”
.
2 Provision for paying off £75,000 borrowed by Napier Harbour Board.
It shall be lawful for the Napier Harbour Board, out of moneys borrowed or to be borrowed under the powers contained in “The Napier Harbour Board Empowering and Loan Act, 1884,”
to pay off a certain sum of seventy-five thousand pounds, borrowed by the said Board on the security of debentures made and given under and in pursuance of the powers contained in “The Napier Harbour Board Act, 1875.”
