Preamble
[Repealed]
The Preamble was repealed, as from 19 November 1907, by section 2 Stautes Repeal Act 1907 (1907 No 40).
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title
The Short Title of this Act is The Wyndham Show-ground Reserve Act 1886.
2 Land vested in trust
The land described in the Schedule to this Act shall be and the same is hereby vested in the trustees hereinafter named in trust for the Mataura Pastoral and Agricultural Society and for the purposes for which the said society was formed.
3 Trustees
The trustees to the said land shall be James Forsyth, Edendale; George Frederick Richardson, Oaklands; James Milne, Oware; Donald Stalker, Redan; Edward Anderson, Glenham; James Alexander Robertson Menzies, Dun Alister: and the said trustees, by the name of
“The Wyndham Show-ground Reserve Trust,”
shall be a body corporate, and may do and suffer all things that bodies corporate may do and suffer.
4 Management by trust
The said Trust shall manage the said lands in all respects as to the said Trust may seem expedient, but so that the lands shall be used for the purposes for which they have by this Act been set apart; and any rents or revenue the said Trust shall receive shall be expended on the said lands: Provided always that the said Trust may for seven days in a year close the said reserve to the public and charge for admission to such reserve on such days.
5 Disqualification
If any of the members of the said Trust shall die, or shall become bankrupt, or take the advantage of any law for the relief of insolvent debtors, or be convicted of any felony, or be absent from the Provincial District of Otago for nine months, then in any of the said cases such member shall cease to be a member of the said Trust. And the Governor may, in any such case, or in case any member resigns his membership, appoint another or others in his place.
Schedule
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Section No 2, Block VI, on the record-map of the Town of Wyndham, deposited in the Survey Office, Dunedin.
