The Short Title of this Act is “The Waikato Agricultural College Model Farm Act, 1888.”

The land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby vested in the Corporation of the County of Waikato for an estate in fee-simple, as an endowment for the said county, subject to being used as and for the purposes of an agricultural college and model farm, where the inhabitants of the said county and the adjacent or neighbouring counties may acquire knowledge in practical farming.

The said land shall be under the control of the Council of the said county, who may, in relation thereto, and to develop the purposes thereof, deal therewith as they shall think best, subject always to the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1886.”

The said Council may from time to time apply part of the county funds in carrying out the purposes of this Act: Provided that no such funds shall be so applied except in pursuance of a resolution of the Council passed at a meeting thereof, at which at least two-thirds of the members for the time being of the Council shall be present, and shall vote in favour of such a resolution.
