An Act to amend “The Timaru High School Act 1878 Amendment Act, 1882.”
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Timaru High School Act 1878 Further Amendment Act, 1889.”
2 Amendment of previous Acts.
The first part of section four of “The Timaru High School Act 1878 Amendment Act, 1882,”
to wit, the words following, that is to say, “No person who is not a member of the County Council by whom be is appointed shall be a member of the said Board,”
are hereby repealed, and in lieu thereof it is hereby enacted that “No person who is not a ratepayer of the county by the County Council whereof be is appointed shall be a member of the said Board.”
3 Amendment of section 3, “Timaru High School Act 1878 Amendment Act, 1882.”
Section three of “The Timaru High School Act 1878 Amendment Act, 1882,”
is hereby repealed, and in lieu thereof it is hereby enacted that, “The Timaru High School Board (thereinafter called ‘the said Board’) shall consist of ten persons, one of whom shall be appointed by the County Council of the County of Waimate, two by the County Council of the County of Geraldine, one by the County Council of the County of Mackenzie, one by the Burgesses of the Borough of Waimate, one by the Governor, and the remaining four persons shall be elected by the burgesses of the Borough of Timaru, in manner therein appointed.”
