	SECOND SCHEDULE

An Act to empower the Education Board of the District of South Canterbury to sell certain Reserves for School Purposes and otherwise, and the Buildings and Improvements thereon, and to apply the Proceeds in making Better Provision for School Purposes at Geraldine.

Preamble.

WHEREAS it is expedient to grant power to the said Board for the before-mentioned purposes:

Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

The Short Title of this Act is “The Geraldine Public School Site Act, 1889.”

2 Board to have power to sell land described in First Schedule and the buildings thereon.

It shall be lawful for the said Board, with the written consent of the Governor, when and so soon as it may deem expedient, to sell and dispose of from time to time, either together or in lots, and either by public auction or tender, or partly in one mode and partly in another, and subject to such conditions as it shall think fit, the parcel of land described in the First Schedule hereto, or any part or parts thereof respectively, with the buildings and improvements thereon, and to execute transfers and assurances thereof to the respective purchasers, subject, however, to all tenancies or other interests now subsisting in or in respect of the said parcel of land.

3 Board to apply proceeds of sale of land and buildings described in First Schedule in erection of buildings and improvements for school purposes, on land described in Second Schedule.

The proceeds arising from such sale shall be applied in the following manner, namely: The proceeds of the sale of the land described in the First Schedule to this Act, and of the buildings and improvements on the said land, shall be applied in or towards the erection of buildings and improvements for school purposes on the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULES

FIRST SCHEDULE

All that piece of land situated in the Town District of Geraldine, Provincial District of Canterbury, being Lots 20 and 21 of Rural Section 6382, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 18 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north by Lot No. 19; towards the east by the River Waihi; towards the south by Lot No. 22; and towards the west by the Geraldine Road.

Reserve No. 346. All that piece of land situate in the Town District of Geraldine, Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 39 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north-west by Wilson Street; towards the north-east by Talbot Street; towards the south-east by Sections Nos. 7a, 8, 9, and 10; and towards the south-west by Section No. 20.

SECOND SCHEDULE

Reserve No. 2625 (in red). All that piece of land situate in the Town District of Geraldine, Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 4 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the west by Wilson Street; towards the north by Wright Street; towards the east by Cox Street; and towards the south by South Town-belt.
