An Act to amend “The Hokitika High School Act, 1883.”

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

The Short Title of this Act is “The Hokitika High School Act 1883 Amendment Act, 1890.”

2 “Hokitika High School Act, 1883,” incorporated.

“The Hokitika High School Act, 1883,” is to be read herewith.

3 Income of Hokitika High School Board may be applied for purposes of District High School.

The Hokitika High School Board shall have power to devote such part of its rents, profits, and annual income as it shall see fit to the promotion of secondary education, including technical knowledge and mineralogy, in a public school within the Education District of Westland as defined by “The Westland Education District Subdivision Act, 1883,” by paying or contributing towards the payment of a salary or salaries of a teacher, or of the fees of scholars, and by the giving of prizes, exhibitions, and scholarships in such school: Provided that such school is constituted and maintained as a District High School under the provisions of “The Education Act, 1877.”
