An Act to vest a certain Reserve known as the West Hawksbury Recreation Reserve, in the Corporation of the Borough of Hawksbury, as an Endowment Reserve.
Preamble.
WHEREAS the parcels of land described in the Schedule hereto were granted to the Borough of West Hawksbury for the purposes of recreation, for the use of the inhabitants of the Town of West Hawksbury: And whereas, by Proclamation dated the twenty-eighth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty, it was proclaimed and declared by his Excellency Sir James Prendergast, Chief Justice, the Administrator of the Government of Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand, that from and after the said twenty-eighth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty, the said Town of West Hawksbury should be a borough constituted under “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876,”
and should be called the Borough of Hawksbury: And whereas it is expedient that the said parcels of land should be vested in and transferred to the Corporation of the said Borough of Hawksbury for the purposes hereinafter mentioned:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Hawksbury Borough Council Reserve Vesting Act, 1895.”
2 Vesting of lands as endowment for borough.
The parcels of land described in the Schedule to this Act shall be and are hereby vested in and transferred to the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Hawksbury as an endowment for the said borough.
Schedule
Firstly, all that parcel of land in the Land District of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement 1,039 acres and 13 perches, more or less, situate in the Hawksbury Survey District, being Section No. 1, Block XII., on the record-map of the said district.
Secondly, all that parcel of land in the Land District of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement 1,080 acres 1 rood 32 perches, more or less, situate in the Hawksbury Survey District, being Section No. 35, Block XI., on the record-map of the said district.
