An Act to enable the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Onehunga to contract with regard to Water-supply with Bodies outside the Borough.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

The Short Title of this Act is “The Borough of Onehunga Water-supply Act, 1898.”

2 Supply of water by Corporation not to be terminable by three months’ notice.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in section three hundred and twenty-nine of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” or otherwise, the Corporation of the Borough of Onehunga, or the Council thereof, may agree for the supply of water for any term to any Water-supply Board body corporate or person outside the borough, and may agree so as to bind the Corporation of the said borough that the said Corporation shall not be entitled to discontinue such supply of water on giving three months’ notice in writing of their intention so to do except upon such conditions (if any) as may be mutually agreed between the said Corporation or Council and any such body corporate or person.

3 Any Water-supply Board may be supplied with water by Corporation.

Any duly constituted Water-supply Board may agree to obtain a supply of water from the said Corporation or Council for such term, at such price, and on such conditions as may be mutually agreed between the said Corporation or Council and any such Water-supply Board.
