An Act to amend “The Canterbury College Empowering Act, 1900.”
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Canterbury College Empowering Act 1900 Amendment Act, 1901.”
2 Power to Board to borrow on mortgage.
The Board may from time to time, to the extent of four thousand pounds, and in manner and subject to the provisions of the said Act mentioned and provided, take up and borrow any sum or sums of money for the purpose of making additions and alterations to the buildings and premises now standing and being on sections numbered 405 and 406 on the map of the Chief Surveyor setting out and describing the City of Christchurch, or one of them, and now used for the purposes of a public library, and may secure the repayment of any moneys so borrowed by a mortgage over the said sections or either of them or any part or parts thereof.
